Beef plant facing 2 more liens

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP)--Two North Dakota construction businesses have filed liens against the Northern Beef Packers plant being built at Aberdeen, and a third lien likely is headed to court.

The two most recent liens were filed by Industrial Builders of Fargo for nearly $921,000, and MNDAK Concrete/Concrete Inc. of Grand Forks for nearly $593,000.

Northern Beef Packers declined comment because Dennis Hellwig, the plant's primary partner, is out of town.

Northern Beef Packers has filed a civil lawsuit regarding a $2.1 million lien filed by Scott Olson Digging of Huron. It alleges that the contractor overcharged and double-charged for dirtwork. The company has denied the allegation.
