Aberdeen livestock auctionThe Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 3,560 head Dec. 17, compared to 4,646 head last week and 5,192 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Fall, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers sold $3 to $5 higher. Heifers sold steady to $4 higher. Demand was good with many buyers on hand. Many of the offerings sold with two rounds of shots. Steers comprised 60% of the run, heifers 40%, with 71% over 600 pounds.
