57th Annual Bull Test updateOklahoma The beef bulls in the 57th Annual OPSU Beef Performance Test are performing very well halfway through the 112 day testing period. They have an overall ADG (average daily gain) of 5.18 pounds and an overall WDA (weight per day of age) of 3.33 pounds. The test will be completed Jan. 31, 2009 and the top 70 head will sell in the 57th Annual Performance Tested Sale, Feb. 23, 2009. Phil Light, Turpin, Okla., has the top junior age bull with an ADG of 6.30 pounds. The bull is sired by Morgans Direction 111 9901. B&M Angus, Edmond, Okla., has the second ranked junior with an ADG of 6.23 pounds on a bull sired by Rito 2 878 of 2536 BVND 878. Gary McPherson, Watonga, Okla., has the third place junior with an ADG of 6.09 pounds on an Angus son of TC Precision 308. B&M Angus has the top pen of junior bulls that have an overall ADG of 5.42 pounds. Larry Weinkauf, Orlando, Okla., has the second place pen of bulls with an ADG of 5.35 pounds and a WDA of 3.93 pounds. In third place is Phil Light's pen of four Angus with an ADG of 5.33 pounds. In the senior age bull division, Gary McPherson has the top individual with an ADG of 7.91 pounds on an Angus sired by TC Foreman 016. This bull has a WDA of 4.06 pounds. Al Rutledge, Stillwater, Okla., has the second ranked senior with an ADG of 7.82 pounds on an Angus sired by GAR Retail Product. An Angus bull consigned by Larry Weinkauf is third with an ADG of 7.30 pounds. The bull is a son of GAR H141 Precision 7893. In the senior pen division, M&S Cattle Co., Dover, Okla., leads the way on a pen of three Angus with an overall ADG of 6.40 pounds. Gary McPherson's pen of three Angus are second with an ADG of 6.22 pounds and Larry Weinkauf's pen of four Angus are third on an ADG of 6.00 pounds, all sired by GAR H141 Precision 7893. The next weigh day is Jan. 3, 2009.
