State revokes grain dealer licenseGREENE, Iowa (AP)--The state has revoked the license of a northeast Iowa grain dealer it says didn't maintain records or pay farmers in a timely manner. The Iowa Department of Agriculture says the license for Harvey Siemens Ltd., of Greene, a grain trucking and brokerage firm, has been revoked. Officials say the president of the company contacted the state's Grain Warehouse Bureau in mid-October and agreed to a voluntary revocation and waived the company's right to an administrative hearing. Bureau Chief Richard Wahl says the company's grain dealer's license was suspended in September to protect farmers. He says corporate registration had lapsed and bookkeeping wasn't up to date. He says farmers will be paid because there wasn't a shortage of money, instead it was an issue with "management and not keeping things up as should be."
