Commodity Classic announces general session program

The 2009 Commodity Classic General Session will feature a lively lineup highlighted by entertainers Mark Mayfield and Sam Glenn. Commodity Classic, the premier convention and trade show of the U.S. corn, soybean, wheat and sorghum industries will be held Feb. 26 to 28, 2009 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas.

Emcee Mark Mayfield, better known as "The Corporate Comedian," will captivate and entertain with his hilarious presentation style. Mayfield has shared the stage with celebrities such as Paul Newman, Peter Frampton, Colin Powell and Bob Newhart. He is the author of the popular book, "Mom's Rules," a comedic, yet poignant look at the things mom said during childhood.

Additionally, Sam Glenn, one of the nation's top motivational speakers and author of "A Kick in the Attitude," will inspire attendees through art and humor and explain how to change attitudes and live big. Glenn gives approximately 100 speeches every year and has authored 16 books, all of which have a strong emphasis on attitude.

The General Session will also bring together National Corn Growers Association President Bob Dickey, American Soybean Association President Johnny Dodson, National Association of Wheat Growers President David Cleavinger and National Sorghum Producers Chairman of the Board Toby Bostwick. They will discuss the latest in agriculture and priorities for each association.

"The General Session is one of my favorite things at Commodity Classic because it packages education and entertainment into one very enjoyable event," said Commodity Classic Co-Chair Ron Kindred.

Commodity Classic will feature a trade show, valuable educational sessions, cutting-edge technological demonstrations, association banquets, entertainment events and important networking opportunities. General Session is sponsored by Dow AgroSciences, LLC and Commodity Classic.
