Ag Profitability Conference Dec. 17 in LaCrosseKansas Farmers and ranchers make many decisions in their farming operations. Land values and rents, and grain and livestock marketing considerations are some of the important ones to consider. K-State ag economists will address these important and timely subjects at an Ag Profitability Conference scheduled for Dec. 17 at the LaCrosse City Auditorium, 417 Main Street. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the conference adjourns at 4 p.m. There is no cost to attend, but pre-register by calling 800-460-9079 by Dec. 12 to ensure a meal. The agenda includes the following topics and speakers: --Grain Market Situation and Outlook, Dan O'Brien; --Land Ownership: Should We Keep Buying?, Terry Kastens; --2008 farm bill, Troy Dumler; --Bio-energy Trends and Economic Impacts, Dan O'Brien; --Crop Insurance Changes and Overview of SURE, Art Barnaby; --Cattle Outlook, James Mintert.
