St. Joseph feeder pigs

The St. Joseph feeder pig auction, St. Joseph, Mo., reported receipts of 130 head July 29, compared to 9 head last week and 279 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, St. Joseph, Mo.

No recent comparison to test the feeder pig market. The bulk of the consignments were lightweight pigs raised indoors, which hurt their demand. Prices paid per head on actual weights.

U.S. 1 to 2: package 18 lbs., 3.00 hot house; package 31 lbs., 8.25 hot house.

U.S. 1 to 3: package 40 lbs., 10.00.
