Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,080 head, July 31, compared to 3,605 head, last week and 2,251 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers at 800 to 950 pounds were steady, and a few at 900 to 950 pounds were firm. Heifers at 600 to 950 pounds were firm to $2 higher. Steers at 800 pounds and under and heifers 600 pounds and under were not enough for a market test, but limited sales were steady. Slaughter cows were steady, Slaughter bulls were $1 to $3 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 75% 600 pounds and over, 14% 600 pounds and 11% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 54% steers and 46% heifers.
