Pratt 3 p.m. cattle salesThe Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kan., reported estimated receipts of 5,000 head Aug. 7, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers 750 to 1000 pounds were steady to $3 higher with bulk of trade $1 to $3 higher. Heifers 600 to 1000 pounds were steady to $3 higher with the bulk of the trade $1 to $2 higher. Steers 750 pounds and under and heifers 600 pounds and under, not enough for a market test. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 44 head, 705 head, 117.60; 750 to 800 head, 115.25 to 117.00; 800 to 850 head, 113.00 to 115.50; 850 to 900 head, 113.00 to 114.85; 900 to 950 head, 110.00 to 113.35; 950 to 1000 head, 107.75 to 110.85. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 635 head, 109.50; 14 head, 662 head, 108.75; 700 to 750 head, 109.50 to 111.85; 750 to 800 head, 108.50 to 110.75; 65 head, 810 head, 108.60; 850 to 900 head, 108.00 to 108.60; 950 to 1000 head, 103.75 to 106.00. 8/11/08 Date: 8/7/08
