Organizer says UW nonprofit institute addresses cutting edge issuesWyoming There is no fluff at this year's Snowy Range Nonprofit Institute Aug. 3 to 5 at the University of Wyoming, according to one member of its committee. "I am incredibly enthused about this year's seminar," said Milt Green, an educator with the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service. The institute is a partnership project with the Outreach School and UW CES Community Development Education team, of which Green is a member. "The agenda the joint steering committee has put together represents, in my opinion, folks who are going to address the most cutting edge issues facing non-profit organizations right now." "Rural Nonprofit Leadership: Connecting the Generations" is the institute's theme. It will be at the UW Hilton Garden Inn and Conference Center in Laramie. Ellbogen Foundation, UW, Regis University, National Outdoor Leadership School, and Qwest Foundation, among many others. SRNI will address issues of workers from multi-generations working side by side and bolstering skills for volunteer staff and board members of Wyoming nonprofits. The nonprofit sector soon will be or is facing the same multi-generational issues the private profit sector is, said Green. "How do you address these issues?" he asked. "Employee retention, volunteer retention, the effective use of technology and the always popular but extremely important transparency and accountability issues non-profits are dealing with.
