Lexington livestock sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 2,000 head July 25, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared with two weeks ago, based on a limited test comparable receipts traded fully steady to $4 higher. Demand was exceptional for an outstanding offering of high quality feeders coming off grass. Trading was very active. Receipts consisted of 62% steers and 38% heifers with 100% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 850 to 894 lbs., 111.50 to 114.35 (112.88); 907 to 949 lbs., 112.85 to 116.25 (114.61); 951 to 963 lbs., 110.75 to 113.00 (111.90). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 8 head, 678 lbs., 118.00; 768 to 789 lbs., 111.00 to 112.75 (111.93); 26 head, 894 lbs., 109.25; 6 head, 937 lbs., 105.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 603 lbs., 115.00; 29 head, 659 lbs., 115.00; 21 head, 715 lbs., 116.00; 759 to 787 lbs., 110.25 to 112.50 (111.69); 812 to 829 lbs., 109.50 to 110.00 (109.70); 69 head, 822 lbs., 112.35 fancy; 863 to 898 lbs., 103.50 to 108.10 (107.06); 6 head, 964 lbs., 97.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 719 to 728 lbs., 105.00 to 113.10 (112.42).
