Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,731 head July 31, compared to 1,494 head last week and 1,164 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm. Slaughter cows were $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. Trade was active. Demand was moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 250- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 21% of the offering, slaughter bulls 3%, replacement cows 9%, and feeders 67%. The feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers, with nearly 46% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
