Arkansas livestock auction summaryThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending July 24, showed estimated receipts of 7,045 head, compared to 10,416 head last week and 7,950 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows and bulls sold firm to $2 higher. Feeders sold somewhat unevenly again this week averaging near steady. The supply was composed of 4,075 stocker and feeder calves, 1,745 feeder yearlings, 395 replacement cows, 740 slaughter cows and 90 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 40% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 51.00 to 57.00; high dressing, 57.00 to 64.75. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 51.00 to 57.00; high dressing, 57.00 to 66.00; low dressing, 45.00 to 51.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 46.00 to 52.00; high dressing, 52.00 to 62.00; low dressing, 37.00 to 45.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 36.00 to 44.00; low dressing, 26.00 to 36.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 65.00 to 72.00; high dressing, 72.00 to 81.50; low dressing, 57.50 to 65.00.
