Aberdeen cattle sales

The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., showed receipts of 1,664 head Aug. 6, compared to 1,013 head last year, according to the USDA to South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, trends are not applicable due to a light supply, however a steady to higher undertone was noted. Steers comprised 30% of the run, heifers 70%, with 83% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 242 lbs., 320.00 per head; 8 head, 257 lbs., 270.00 per head; 323 to 326 lbs., 430.00 to 480.00 (472.91) per head; 15 head, 564 lbs., 118.50; 678 to 689 lbs., 117.00 to 122.00 (121.07); 806 to 849 lbs., 108.00 to 113.25 (109.06); 65 head, 983 lbs., 106.50; 58 head, 1010 lbs., 106.30; 38 head, 1149 lbs., 100.90.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 5 head, 463 lbs., 72.50; 7 head, 911 lbs., 63.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 178 lbs., 230.00 per head; 12 head, 268 lbs., 300.00 per head; 66 head, 319 lbs., 385.00 per head; 6 head, 353 lbs., 350.00 per head; 9 head, 575 lbs., 114.00; 11 head, 642 lbs., 116.50; 21 head, 682 lbs., 111.50; 5 head, 745 lbs., 110.00; 70 head, 891 lbs., 104.25; 919 to 937 lbs., 102.00 to 106.75 (105.19); 12 head, 986 lbs., 104.00; 1000 to 1044 lbs., 94.00 to 102.90 (101.82).
