Wallace honored by NJAAA caring person who knows no end to giving of time and energy makes Tammy Wallace, Stotts City, Mo., an exceptional individual who feels like family to many in the Angus industry. "She is a special person who has given a lot, as much as she could give," says Amanda Schnoor, Chowchilla, Calif., a former Foundation director of the National Junior Angus Association Board. For her commitment and affection for the people of the Angus industry and their organizations, Wallace will be inducted into the Honorary Angus Foundation at the National Junior Angus Show, July 13 to 19 in Des Moines, Iowa. Each year the NJAA chooses outstanding individuals to join the Honorary Angus Foundation. Inductees exemplify a significant devotion and genuine interest in the future of junior members and the NJAA. Wallace is involved in many facets of the Angus breed and her passion for the members and Angus cattle radiates in each undertaking. She is active in both the Missouri Junior Angus Association and the NJAA along with being an American Angus Auxiliary member. Among her many involvements, Wallace has served as the Southwest Missouri Junior Angus Association advisor, a contest workshop co-chairperson and a regional show co-chairperson. Wallace has also served six years on the NJAA advisory board. "She gives time and energy not only to attend meetings, but to go beyond what is asked of her as an advisor," says James Fisher, American Angus Association director of junior activities. Being involved in breed associations all her life and now the mother of two junior members, Wallace has a deep understanding of how experiences with the NJAA can leave a positive impact on members. She was able to bring a unique perspective to the role of NJAA advisor. "She has been in our place," Schnoor says. "I think she realizes that one day the NJAA will give the same opportunities to her children." Mallory Trosper, Hamilton, Mo., a NJAA director, has known Wallace many years and appreciates the time she has spent working with her. "She is not only an advisor but a teacher, always willing to help any junior with whatever they may need, giving them instruction and a knowledge base which they can learn upon," Trosper says. "Tammy dedicates not only her time to the adult and junior associations, but her whole heart." Trosper says Wallace is a firm believer in the associations being like family. With her character and devotion for all she is involved in, the people of the Angus industry are lucky to have a family member like Wallace. 8/25/08 Date: 8/20/08 Advertisement
