Texas Peanut Producers recognize Extension agent

Texas

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent Dale Dunlap of Collingsworth County was recognized as the "Texas Peanut Producers Board Outstanding County Extension Agent in Peanuts" on Aug. 4 for his exceptional service to the Texas peanut industry.

TPPB Executive Director Shelly Nutt presented Dunlap with the award at the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association's annual meeting and improvement conference in Amarillo. Dunlap was presented with a certificate, a $300 check and a gift basket containing Texas-grown products.

"It's a pleasure to recognize our first ever outstanding agent for peanut education," Nutt said. "Dale has an active research program with variety trials for a breeding program, as well as disease and weed control.

Nutt said Dunlap also conducts a yearly peanut field tour that draws in large peanut grower attendance.

"We appreciate all Dale does for the peanut industry in Texas."
