Sioux Falls feeder pigs

The Sioux Falls feeder pig auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported receipts of 249 head Aug. 19, compared to 51 head last week and 550 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder pigs were too few to trend however, this week's offerings sold with a steady to firm undertone noted. Buyer attendance was good with moderate demand. All sales based on actual weight and by the head.

U.S. 1 to 2: 16 head, 58 lbs., 36.50; 60 head, 71 lbs., 40.00; 79 head, 83 lbs., 51.50.

U.S. 1 to 3: 33 head, 33 lbs., 21.00; 7 head, 50 lbs., 25.00.
