Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 1,699 head Aug. 18, compared to 441 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. No recent report was available to track sale trends, although a steady undertone was noted. There was g ood buyer attendance, with moderate demand and active trade. Slaughter bulls and cows sold with weaker undertone. The supply consisted of 12% slaughter cows and bulls, 88% feeders. The feeder supply included 35% steers and 65% heifers, with 99% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 19 head, 334 lbs., 128.00; 5 head, 618 lbs., 118.00; 728 to 731 lbs., 120.00 to 122.50 (120.91); 756 to 787 lbs., 116.50 to 118.00 (116.74); 811 to 846 lbs., 113.00 to 117.25 (115.90); 862 to 896 lbs., 108.75 to 113.00 (112.64); 921 to 942 lbs., 106.00 to 110.60 (109.74); 59 head, 983 lbs., 107.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 22 head, 608 lbs., 115.50; 672 to 696 lbs., 112.00 to 117.00 (115.90); 19 head, 704 to 730 lbs., 108.00 to 113.75 (109.91); 756 to 781 lbs., 111.10 to 112.00 (111.39); 29 head, 847 lbs., 109.50; 855 to 899 lbs., 106.25 to 108.50 (107.31); 901 to 925 lbs., 106.00 to 107.25 (107.04); 955 to 994 lbs., 104.00 to 107.75 (106.20); 1007 to 1033 lbs., 100.50 to 103.50 (102.67); 6 head, 1051 lbs., 100.25; 17 head, 1101 to 1114 lbs., 94.50 to 97.25 (95.32). Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1140 to 1613 lbs., 62.00 to 65.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1537 lbs., 60.00 to 65.00; low dressing, 57.25 to 60.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 950 to 1460 lbs., 56.50 to 61.50; high dressing, 62.00 to 64.50; low dressing, 52.00 to 55.50. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1225 to 2060 lbs., 67.00 to 72.50; high dressing, 72.00 to 76.25; low dressing, 60.50 to 66.00.
