Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,812 head Aug. 14, compared to 2,013 head last week and 1,016 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm to $2 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply was Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 750-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 17% of the offering, slaughter bulls 2%, replacement cows 3%, and feeders 78%. The feeder supply included 57% steers and 43% heifers, with nearly 12% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
