Watertown cattle sales

The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 650 head Aug. 13, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

There were no trends due to no recent report. A good demand was shown for quality cattle. Feeder steers made up 54% of the offerings, feeder heifers made up 46%, with 100% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 910 lbs., 108.80; 961 to 980 lbs., 106.50 to 108.90 (108.31); 1011 to 1018 lbs., 104.25 to 106.60 (106.25); 1056 to 1082 lbs., 104.50 to 106.60 (105.76). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 1062 lbs., 101.50 fleshy; 10 head, 1120 to 1138 lbs., 97.50 to 98.50 (97.90) fleshy; 6 head, 1166 lbs., 99.00 fleshy.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 5 head, 658 lbs., 70.00; 10 head, 938 lbs., 70.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 23 head, 893 lbs., 105.60; 958 to 990 lbs., 103.00 to 105.30 (105.12). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 13 head, 905 to 931 lbs., 99.50; 1131 lbs., 98.00 to 99.25 (98.78).
