Tulia livestock sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,320 head Aug. 11, compared to 2,051 head last week and 2,000 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 lower. Trade and demand were moderate to good. The bulk of the supply was Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 4% of the offering, replacement cows less than 1%, and feeders 95%. The feeder supply included 52% steers, 47% heifers and 1% bulls, with nearly 54% of the run over 600 pounds.
