Polled Hereford tour set for Aug. 30, 31Kansas Cattle producers are invited to attend the 2008 Kansas Polled Hereford Tour, Aug. 30 and 31 in Western Kansas. The first tour stop will be Sandhill Farms, owned by Kevin Schultz near Haviland at 10 a.m. on Aug 30. At 1:30 pm, after lunch, the tour will arrive at Umberger Polled Herefords, owned by Greg Umberger of Rozel. Then at 3:15 p.m. at the tour will stop at Brannan and Reinhardt Polled Herefords, owned by Kent Reinhardt near Otis. Participants will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Hays VFW Hall for the evening. At 7 p.m. the 2008 KPHA Annual Meeting and Banquet will feature Hereford steak and dinner along with special speakers. The tour will resume on Aug 31 at 8:30 a.m. visiting the Virgil J. Staab & Sons operation north of Hays. After viewing cattle and breakfast the tour will proceed to Pieper Polled Herefords at Palco. H-Bar Ranch, owned by Charlie and Darla Moore, will also have cattle on display. Participants can enjoy cattle and a meal during this stop.
