Lexington cattle sales reportThe Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,725 head Aug. 8, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared with two weeks ago, the bulk of the steer and heifer offerings trended fully steady to firm with instances of as much as $3 to $4 higher. Demand was very good and trading was active. Receipts consisted of 37% steers and 63% heifers with 97% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 34 head, 667 lbs., 120.25; 734 to 739 lbs., 117.75 to 118.00 (117.92); 36 head, 784 lbs., 115.50; 810 to 830 lbs., 114.25 to 116.10 (115.47); 855 to 898 lbs., 112.00 to 114.10 (114.02); 9 head, 996 lbs., 105.25 fleshy. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 350 lbs., 132.00; 5 head, 565 lbs., 117.50; 14 head, 680 lbs., 117.00; 802 to 845 lbs., 111.00 to 112.50 (111.30). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 30 head, 624 lbs., 115.60; 21 head, 692 lbs., 115.25; 705 to 724 lbs., 112.75 to 115.00 (114.10); 751 to 791 lbs., 110.00 to 113.50 (110.87); 806 to 818 lbs., 110.00 to 114.00 (113.16); 850 to 886 lbs., 109.25 to 111.50 (109.61); 20 head, 1014 to 1022 lbs., 95.00 to 97.25 (96.46).
