Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Aug. 11, reported in futures trading that Chicago September soft red winter wheat was $7.93 3/4, up 28 1/2 cents; September corn, $4.97 1/4, down 1 1/4 cents, December corn, $5.17, down 1 1/4 cents; and November soybeans, $11.96, up 15 1/2 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $8.65 to $8.75, up 21 1/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $6.83 3/4 to $6.88 3/4, up 28 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $5.42 1/4 to $5.44 1/4, down 1 1/4 to 1/4 cent; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $8.70, up 78 to 61 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $8.07 1/4 to $8.42 3/4, down 2 to 2 1/4 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $12.61 to $12.64, up 30 1/2 to 15 1/2 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $7.54. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $7.57 to $7.80. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was 2 cents higher, at $6.57. In north central Colorado, wheat was $7.26 to $7.68. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $7.29 to $7.46. In east central Colorado, wheat was $7.35 to $7.55. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $7.31 to $7.49. In south central Colorado, wheat was not available. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $7.32 to $7.42. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 12 cents higher and $4.82 to $5.11 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $4.43 to $5. In east central Colorado, corn was $4.69 to $4.77. In southeast Colorado, corn was $4.59 to $4.79. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $4.44 to $4.68 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 21 cents higher at $7.57 to $7.84 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 18 cents higher at $10.86 to $10.99 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $9 to $11.50 per cwt., mostly $9. Sunflowers were $24.50 to $28 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $4.82 to $5.09 per bushel. Barley was steady at $8.50 cwt. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $35 to $36 per cwt.
