Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,225 head Aug. 9, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. There was no recent feeder sale to establish a trend, however, a notably higher undertone was noted. There was very good demand for all classes and weights, and 800- and 900-pound steers and heifers sold at equal value. Receipts consisted of 57% steers and 43% heifers, 80% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 37 head, 300 lbs., 151.50; 362 to 366 lbs., 156.00; 5 head, 430 lbs., 137.00; 23 head, 489 lbs., 125.50; 553 to 599 lbs., 126.25 to 132.50 (128.48); 627 to 637 lbs., 121.00; 703 to 704 lbs., 121.25 to 123.10 (122.54); 751 to 783 lbs., 111.25 to 121.00 (119.10); 823 to 845 lbs., 117.85; 856 to 898 lbs., 111.00 to 113.75 (113.16); 20 head, 923 lbs., 110.75; 10 head, 990 lbs., 106.00.
