Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 2,013 head Aug. 7, compared to 1,731 head last week and 1,069 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 225- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 25% of the offering, slaughter bulls 3%, replacement cows 7%, and feeders 65%. The feeder supply included 62% steers and 38% heifers, with nearly 28% of the run over 600 pounds.
