Aberdeen cattle salesThe Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 1,613 head Aug. 13, compared to 1,664 head last week and 3,225 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers were not well tested, heifers were steady to firm on a light test. Steers comprised 15% of the run, heifers 85%, with 91% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 408 lbs., 118.00; 508 to 545 lbs., 123.50 to 128.50 (125.91); 12 head, 746 lbs., 115.00; 29 head, 756 lbs., 116.10; 5 head, 897 lbs., 111.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 887 lbs., 107.25. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 6 head, 483 lbs., 74.00; 14 head, 650 lbs., 79.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 405 lbs., 106.00; 8 head, 519 lbs., 118.00; 36 head, 775 lbs., 107.50; 808 to 838 lbs., 103.00 to 110.00 (105.68); 875 to 878 lbs., 105.00 to 106.50 (106.30); 986 to 988 lbs., 103.00 to 103.40 (103.24). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 436 lbs., 95.00; 5 head, 751 lbs., 97.00; 855 to 884 lbs., 99.00 to 102.00 (100.79).
