ALB Matching Grant Proposals approvedThe American Lamb Board has approved funding for four matching grant proposals in the second round of their 2008 Matching Grant program. The programs that have been approved by the Board pending the US Department of Agriculture's review and approval include : --Trailing of the Sheep in Ketchum, Idaho; --Soldier Hollow Classic in Park City, Utah; --Kansas State Fair in Abilene, Kansas; --Cleveland Fabulous Food Show in Cleveland, Ohio. The ALB developed the Matching Grant Program to expand their marketing and promotional activities by working collaboratively with industry organizations. Industry Communications Committee Chair David Trotter stated, "We are looking forward to working with our industry partners to increase awareness of American Lamb at the local level." The American Lamb Board is a national promotion, research and information organization whose purpose is to strengthen the position of lamb and lamb products in domestic and foreign markets. The 13-member board, appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture, is composed of six producers, three feeders, one seedstock producer and three first handlers. The work of the Board is overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agriculture Marketing Service.
