Woodward livestock sales report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 6,652 head Aug. 1, compared to 5,572 head last week and 6,800 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $1 higher, over 900 pounds were $2 higher. Feeder heifers were $1 to $1.50 higher. Steer calves were steady. Heifer calves were $2 lower except over 600 pounds were $3 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. The supply included 72% steers, 25% heifers with 92% over 600 pounds.
