Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,323 head Aug. 4, compared to 1,590 head last week and 1,837 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder steers were $2 to $4 higher. Stocker heifers were mostly steady, with feeder heifers $1 to $3 higher. Weigh-ups were mostly average with few full. Demand was good on all classes with good attendance of buyers. There was a higher instance of No. 1 cattle with demand very good for feeder cattle. Receipts included 48% steers, 35% heifers, 16% bulls, with 39% of cattle over 600 pounds. Cows and bulls sold fully steady, with very good demand on lean cows. A total of 206 cows and bulls sold with 66% going to packers.
