Texhoma livestock sales

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 750 head Aug. 6, compared to 560 head last week and 850 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, limited test on feeder steers. Feeder heifers were $2 to $3 higher. Limited test on steer calves. Heifer calves were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average, few full. The supply included 31% steers, 64% heifers with 67% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 154 cows and bulls sold with 79% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 348 lbs., 130.00; 8 head, 604 lbs., 115.00; 2 head, 690 lbs., 112.00; 7 head, 804 lbs., 111.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 823 to 844 lbs., 109.50 to 111.00 (110.73). Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 313 lbs., 121.00; 13 head, 490 lbs., 119.00; 551 to 577 lbs., 112.50 to 118.00 (117.36); 30 head, 692 lbs., 111.25; 5 head, 869 lbs., 106.85. Medium and large frame 3, 5 head, 597 lbs., 107.50. Small and medium frame 1 to 2, 14 head, 638 lbs., 112.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 434 lbs., 112.50. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 433 lbs., 110.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 379 lbs., 115.00; 7 head, 410 to 444 lbs., 109.50 to 111.00 (109.70); 11 head, 481 lbs., 113.00; 4 head, 500 to 503 lbs., 107.00 to 108.00 (107.25); 46 head, 579 lbs., 110.25; 6 head, 686 lbs., 108.50; 765 to 785 lbs., 106.00 to 108.85 (108.66); 124 head, 815 lbs., 108.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 33 head, 783 lbs., 106.85. Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 331 lbs., 110.00; 7 head, 421 lbs., 104.50; 4 head, 615 to 618 lbs., 102.00 to 102.50 (102.38); 5 head, 709 lbs., 106.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 12 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 57.50 to 60.50; high dressing, 62.00 to 66.00. Boners, 58 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 57.50 to 61.50; high dressing, 62.00 to 66.00; low dressing, 50.00 to 55.50. Lean, 38 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 57.50 to 58.50; high dressing, 60.50 to 64.75; low dressing, 52.00 to 57.00. Light, 6 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 49.00 to 52.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 9 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 76.50 to 78.50; high dressing, 80.00 to 82.50; very high, 84.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 to 7 years old, 1075 to 1150 lbs., 2 to 3 months bred, average blacks 810.00 to 830.00; 6 to 7 years old, 1125 to 1300 lbs., 4 to 8 months bred, average to high blacks ( 850.00 to 975.00.
