NCBA's Cattlemen to Cattlemen wins national NAMA awardNCBA's Cattlemen to Cattlemen was the winner of a first place award at the National Agri-Marketing Association's "Best of NAMA" awards ceremony held April 16 in Kansas City. Produced by the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, the weekly television program featuring cattle industry news, market information, producer education segments and cattle producer profiles captured the top honor in NAMA's Broadcast News category. "Cattlemen to Cattlemen has been very well-received by cattle producers across the nation, who appreciate having a weekly TV program they can turn to for the latest cattle industry information," said Terry Stokes, NCBA chief executive officer. "It's great to see the program recognized by NAMA for its outstanding content and quality." NCBA's Cattlemen to Cattlemen premiered in February 2007 on RFD-TV. It airs every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., with repeat episodes on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., and Sundays at midnight (all times Eastern). It is also available online at www.CattlementoCattlemen.org. The program's sponsors include Purina Mills, Fort Dodge Animal Health, Dow AgroSciences, Bayer Animal Health and McDonald's. In just over one year on the air, Cattlemen to Cattlemen has become a favorite with RFD-TV viewers, and has risen to the top of its cattle-oriented programs. "NCBA's Cattlemen to Cattlemen has led the way in using national prime-time television to communicate vital news and information to its members, while at the same time educating the public on the important issues facing the beef industry," said Patrick Gottsch, founder and president of RFD-TV. Recent editions of Cattlemen to Cattlemen have featured on-site coverage of the farm bill debate, including interviews with several ag leaders from both houses of Congress. Previous programs have included President Bush's address to NCBA members at last year's Spring Legislative Conference, as well as interviews with the current and former secretaries of agriculture, and top officials from other key regulatory agencies. Producer education segments have been a very popular feature on Cattlemen to Cattlemen, including tips on calf pre-conditioning, disease control and prevention, bull selection, herd health and nutrition, and rangeland management. The program also features market analysis from experts at CattleFax, the Livestock Marketing Information Center, and other leading cattle industry analysts.
