Wyobraska cattle sales reportThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending March 29, totaled 2,350 head, compared to 7,900 head last week and 4,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Torrington, Wyo. Compared to last week at Wyoming auctions, feeder steers and heifers sold generally steady in a light test. Direct trading slow with no good price comparison available except for few comparable heifers were $3 lower. Demand was moderate. Buyer inquiry light to moderate on light offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 67% of the supply, heifers 33%, with 89% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 1920 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 410 to 460 lbs., 131.00 to 135.00; 560 to 585 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00; calves 615 to 690 lbs., 107.00 to 120.00; calves 720 to 800 lbs., 92.50 to 93.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 480 lbs., 124.00; 665 lbs., 97.00. Medium and large frame 2 to 3, 660 lbs., 82.00. Large frame 2, 810 lbs., 49.00. Direct, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price, 575 lbs., 124.75; 775 to 785 lbs., 94.60 to 99.75; 850 lbs., 92.00. Delivered price, 865 lbs., 95.95; 925 lbs., 94.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, delivered price, 690 lbs., 102.50. Heifers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 330 to 390 lbs., 125.00 to 128.00; 415 to 470 lbs., 118.00 to 121.00; 540 to 590 lbs., 103.00 to 107.50; calves 725 to 750 lbs., 85.50 to 92.50; 775 lbs., 84.00; 910 lbs., 82.00.
