Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,789 head March 31, compared to 1,078 head last week and 2,010 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week , light weight steers and feeder steers were steady. Light weight heifers were $2 to $3 lower, with feeder heifers steady to $2 lower. Plainer cattle trending lower. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Good attendance of buyers. Stormy weather threatened much of the state along with some local flooding. Receipts were comprised of 45% steers, 42% heifers, 12% bulls, with 14% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady with packers showing less interest in fleshy cows. A total of 253 cows and bulls sold with 58% going to packers.
