Sorghum board schedules meeting

Nebraska

The Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board has scheduled a public meeting for April 10 and 11. The meeting will convene at 1:30 p.m., April 10 in the Board Room at the Country Inn & Suites located at 5353 N. 27th Street, Lincoln, Neb.

The meeting agenda will include preliminary budget discussions for the 2008-2009 fiscal year and research reports and project presentations. In addition to regular business, the board will announce openings on the board and hear reports pertinent to ongoing program activities of research, market development, producer education and federal legislation.

A copy of the agenda is available by e-mailing sorghum-bk@email.state.ne.us or by phoning the Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board at 402-471-4276.

The Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board administers the one-cent per hundredweight check-off, which is assessed on all grain sorghum sold in the state. The board's annual budget is invested in the areas of research, market development, producer education and federal legislation.
