The Nebraska Wheat Board would like to announce an opening in District 2 for appointment by Governor Dave Heineman. This appointment will begin on July 1 and run for five years.

District 2 represents the counties of Banner, Cheyenne and Kimball. Wheat producers residing in any of the mentioned counties are eligible.

Any wheat producer interested in the appointment may submit an application to the governor's office for consideration. Producers may also submit an application online at www.governor.nebraska.gov/bc/board_comm.html or through the Nebraska Wheat Board office. Applications are being accepted immediately. The deadline for applications is June 1.

Qualified candidates include those who are citizens of Nebraska, are at least 21 years of age, have been actively engaged in growing wheat in Nebraska for a period of at least five years and derive a substantial portion of income from producing wheat.

Seven wheat producers comprise the Nebraska Wheat Board and serve terms of five years.
