Kansas

Kansas State University's Equine Event Planning Team and the KSU Horseman's Association will team up to host the first-ever Wildcat Classic Horse Show and Tack Swap April 12 in Manhattan at the Riley County Fairgrounds in CiCo Park. Proceeds from the show will go to the Hope Ranch Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc.

The show, which will offer 34 English and Western classes, begins with Hunter warm-up at 7:30 a.m., and classes beginning at 8 a.m. Concessions will be available on the show grounds.

Entry fees are $7 per class, with an office fee of $1 per horse. Prizes and high-point awards will be given.

Judging services will be donated by Nicky Tiffany and Dehlia Burdan.

Attendees and participants are encouraged to bring used tack and other horse-related items to the show and consign them to the tack swap. The swap will be held in the livestock show barn on the fairgrounds from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

All attendees and participants are invited to stay for Donkey Softball at 3 p.m.

Hope Ranch, which is based in Manhattan, Kan., is an organization that offers therapeutic horseback riding programs. More information about Hope Ranch and a flyer with more information about the Wildcat Classic Horse Show is available on the Hope Ranch website: http://www.hoperanchks.org/Home.asp.
