Huron cattle sales report

The Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 2,017 head April 1, compared to 2,319 head last week and 3,025 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers up to 850 pounds sold unevenly steady, feeder steers over 850 pounds sold $3 lower. Feeder heifers sold steady to $3 lower. Demand was good with many load lots in the offering. Steers comprised 45% of the run, heifers 55%, with 85% over 600 pounds.
