Flood recovery resources available on Extension websiteMissouri People in flood-stricken areas of Missouri can find information on storm and flood recovery at a website maintained by the University of Missouri Extension. The "Storm and Flood Recovery Information" website includes information on home repair and clean up, farm safety, disinfecting flooded wells, weather, road conditions and river stages. "We will be updating the website as more information becomes available," said David Reinbott, an MU Extension agriculture business specialist. Printed copies of content on the site are available through your county Extension office. Those concerned about possible contamination of their wells can find detailed information through the links listed under "Wells and Farmstead," said Reinbott. Because of the recent flooding, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has waived its fee for testing private water supplies. Free testing kits are available from the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory by calling 573-751-3334. Testing kits may also be available through your county health department. MU Extension's "Storm and Flood Recovery Information" site is at http://extension.missouri.edu/seregion/Storm_and_Flood_Recovery_Information.htm. 4/7/08 Date: 4/3/08
