Elk Point farmer on National Biodiesel Board

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP)--An Elk Point farmer has been named to the sustainability task force of the National Biodiesel Board.

Doug Hanson, who also is the research and promotion director for the South Dakota Soybean Association, will serve with biodiesel producers, distributors and others on the panel.

The association says the task force's goal is to make sure the U.S. biodiesel industry continues to protect the environment while producing jobs and reducing dependence on foreign oil.

Nelson says the group can create policies that are vital to the biodiesel industry.
