ASA hosts 2008 National Feedlot and Marketing Tour April 18 and 19The American Salers Association's National Feedlot and Marketing Tour will take place in Eastern Nebraska on April 18 and 19. Participants will have the opportunity to visit with seven feed yards, two seedstock producers, an excellent commercial cattlemen and a Sales Pavilion. All participants are responsible for their own transportation, but there is no registration fee for this tour. The Feedlot Tour is an opportunity for breeders from all over the country to visit with fellow cattlemen, build relationships and learn from each other. Tour participants will have the opportunity to visit with feedlot and cattle operations to learn more about how to increase market share for Salers cattle. Hosting operations on April 18 are Harre Feed Yard of Exeter, Neb., Weber and Sons Feed Yard of Dorchester, Neb., Briggs Feed Yard of Seward, Neb., the commercial operation of James Plasek of David City, Neb., and Columbus Sales Pavilion of Columbus, Neb. The April 18 evening meal will be held at Panther Country Salers of Leigh, Neb., sponsored by Panther Country Salers and Folken Feed Yard. Tour stops on April 19 include Folken Feed Yard of Leigh, Neb., Harry Knobbe Feed Yard of West Point, Neb. where participants will have lunch and hear a marketing presentation from Harry Knobbe. The afternoon will take us to Dinklage Feed Yard of Wisner, Neb. and Aschoff Feed Yard of Stanton, Neb. The April 19 tour will come to an end at TB Salers of Dante, SD where they will sponsor dinner.
