NWGA seeks urban family to participate in harvest tourNebraska The Nebraska Wheat Growers Association is extending an invitation to one urban family to participate in an upcoming harvest tour. The tour will take place on June 24 to 26. It is set to start in western Nebraska and progress to the eastern part of the state. The tour is designed to provide an urban family, participants of a Brazilian trade team and members of the media with an opportunity to learn more about the wheat industry and agriculture in general. The tour will provide a chance to visit with, interact with and learn from wheat producers. Ultimately, participants will learn more about wheat, the industry that processes it, the research being done within the industry and how wheat becomes bread on grocery store shelves. Urban families that are interested in taking part in this educational opportunity are encouraged to submit a one-page essay on why they want to participate. Any questions can be directed to the NWGA office at 800-651-6736 or at P.O. Box 95063, Lincoln, NE 68509. Essays and requests to participate in the tour are being taken immediately. 4/7/08 Date: 4/24/08
