Texhoma livestock auctionThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 771 head April 23, compared to 850 head last week and 1,450 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers were $4 to $5 higher. Feeder heifers were $4 to $6 higher. Limited test on steer and heifer calves. Demand very good for feeders. Fill was average to full. The supply included 56% steers, 41% heifers with 88% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 93 cows and bulls sold with 78% going to packers.
