Lexington livestock sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,150 head April 18, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared with two weeks ago, comparable offerings were too few to establish an adequate market trend although a steady to firm undertone should be noted. Demand was moderate to good and trading was mostly moderate. Receipts consisted of 65% steers and 35% heifers with 83% of the total feeder cattle receipts weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 395 lbs., 125.50; 8 head, 508 lbs., 117.50; 17 head, 574 to 577 lbs., 114.50 to 118.75 (117.01); 609 to 637 lbs., 109.00 to 110.00 (109.58); 5 head, 661 lbs., 109.00; 9 head, 713 lbs., 106.25; 20 head, 765 lbs., 100.00; 802 to 815 lbs., 95.00 to 101.75 (100.33); 39 head, 882 lbs., 92.85; 962 to 982 lbs., 90.50 to 92.25 (91.18). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 593 lbs., 105.00; 5 head, 628 lbs., 106.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 551 to 598 lbs., 95.85 to 102.00 (99.11); 4 head, 602 lbs., 95.50; 8 head, 683 lbs., 92.50; 701 to 748 lbs., 92.50 to 93.50 (93.22); 20 head, 753 to 790 lbs., 90.35 to 90.75 (90.49); 11 head, 800 lbs., 91.00; 5 head, 888 lbs., 85.00 fleshy; 905 to 943 lbs., 86.25 to 86.85 (86.68). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 378 lbs., 111.50; 16 head, 480 lbs., 107.00; 5 head, 548 lbs., 92.00.
