Goldthwaite sheep saleThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, April 18, reported receipts of 2,182 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,153 head last week and 3,799 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Lightweight slaughter lambs were $3 to $5 higher, and heavy weights were steady. Stocker and feeder goats were not tested. Slaughter goats were steady to firm. Demand was good. The supply included around 55% sheep including near 1300 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 90 to 110 lbs., 42.00 to 54.00. Dorper bucks, 150.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 60 to 80 lbs., 37.00 to 46.00; pairs, few 22.50 per head. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 245.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Prime 2 to 3, few 90 lbs., 100.00. Choice, 100 to 150 lbs., 73.00 to 85.00. Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 119.00 to 134.00.
