Canola field tour near Gypsum May 6Kansas An opportunity for farmers to learn more about canola as a crop for central Kansas will be discussed at a Field Tour May 6 south of Gypsum, Kan. The tour sponsored by K-State Research & Extension and Central Kansas District will begin at 1:30 p.m., at a canola field on the Gerald Karber farm located 1 mile west and 6 miles south of Gypsum, Kan., on Kipp Road and 1 mile west on Rose Hill Road. Speakers at the field tour include Mike Stamm, K-State canola breeder and Vic Martin, K-State agronomist who will discuss current K-State research aimed at producing canola profitably in the central Great Plains; variety selection, tillage and fertility, and benefits of Canola in a crop rotation. All persons interested in canola production are invited to attend the field tour.
