Arkansas livestock auction summaryThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending April 17, showed estimated receipts of 8,685, compared to 7,449 head last week and 9,772 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls sold firm to mostly $1 higher. Feeder steers sold uneven, nearly steady. Feeder heifers sold steady to $2 higher. The supply was composed of 4,660 stocker and feeder calves, 1,910 feeder yearlings, 1,050 replacement cows, 955 slaughter cows and 110 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 46% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 47.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 53.00 to 58.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 47.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 53.00 to 60.00; low dressing, 44.00 to 47.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 42.00 to 48.00; high dressing, 48.00 to 54.00; low dressing, 35.00 to 42.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 35.00 to 42.00; high dressing, 42.00 to 48.00; low dressing, 25.00 to 34.00.
