Tulsa livestock sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,821 head April 14, compared to 2,230 head last week and 2,194 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steer calves were $2 to $4 lower. Feeder steers were mostly steady. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were steady to $1 higher. Several new crop calves were included in supply. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Buyer attendance was good. Receipts consisted of 43% steers, 44% heifers, 11% bulls with 25% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were mostly steady. Slaughter bulls were $2 lower. A total of 234 cows and bulls sold with 65% going to packers.
