Tulia livestock sale reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,644 head April 14, compared to 2,152 head last week and 4,201 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $3 higher. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were not enough for a market test. Trade was active and demand was moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 2% of the offering, slaughter bulls less than 1/2%, and feeders 97%. The feeder supply included 73% steers and 27% heifers, with nearly 79% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
