RFMU to host workshop on renewable energy

Colorado

Residents of eastern Colorado interested in renewable energy development can join Rocky Mountain Farmers Union and energy experts to explore this fast-growing response to our energy needs.

The event is a workshop sponsored by RMFU, Farmers Union Insurance agents, and The Eastern Colorado Bank on April 30, in Limon that morning and then in Cheyenne Wells in the evening, to address common questions:

--What does a good land lease agreement look like?

--How can you create a landowner lease agreement that benefits you?

--What are the opportunities for growing your own energy, solar and wind?

--What does the new net metering law mean?

--Where are we on carbon credits?

Speakers will include RMFU Director of Renewable Energy Development Tony Frank; John Snow, an attorney with Hackstaff Gessler with expertise in renewable energy; and Roger Alexander from SolSource, provider of solar solutions .

The morning meeting (10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch provided) will be at the Hub City Senior Center in Limon (220 E. Ave). A similar program will be offered in the evening (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) at the City Complex Auditorium in Cheyenne Wells.

For more information contact: Tony Frank, RMFU at 303-752-5800; Wendy Dickey Agency, Cheyenne Wells at 719-767-2856; John Hickey Agency, Limon at 719-775-2859.
